Plot twist:

Bananas are berries. Strawberries are liars.

In botany โ€” the science of plants โ€” a berry has to grow from one flower, with seeds inside its flesh. A banana grows from a single flower, and its seeds are those tiny brown specks inside. A strawberry grows from a flower too, but those little yellow dots on the outside are the actual fruits. A single strawberry is dozens of tiny fruits stuck together. Not one berry at all.
